The importance and the foundations of the priesthood
Christ the Lord, pontiff assumed among men (see Heb 5,1-5), made of the new people “a kingdom and priests for his God and Father” (Revelation 1.6, see 5.9-10) ).
The common priesthood of the faithful and the ministerial or hierarchical priesthood, although differing essentially and not only in degree, are nevertheless ordered one to the other because both of them, each in his own way, participate in the only priesthood of Christ.
