He is the only mediator between God and men. No one can reach the Father except by passing through Christ. On the Cross, in filial obedience, He offered himself as a victim in an act of extreme love towards God and his brothers.
Christ has arranged for his priesthood to be participated in two aspects: that of worship, which enables all the baptized to present their offerings to God that of mediation, which Christ entrusted to the ministerial priesthood.
